Whoever designed Moorpark and it’s communities, had families with little kids in mind. There are wide streets and side walks, lots of trees and grass, and parks everywhere. It is so peaceful to walk along the paths between the nicely groomed houses to the gigantic park that always has green grass… but it is also a little eerie.
If you were to walk through these neighborhoods on most days, you may not see a soul. Amalea and I walked to the park today and we did see a few people, of course they were all gardeners… keep the nice people’s nice yards nice and neat. And I wonder, why do people keep their yards so nice if they are never outside enjoying them? Why do people spend so much money on Home owner’s associations and never go to the parks they pay for? Why do people want so badly to live in quiet, safe neighborhoods, and then never go outside?
Ok so the streets weren’t EMPTY… that’s true. We saw a few Mercedes drive by, a few Denali’s with big shiny rims and real scary drivers, and the mail-persons truck (which has to be the loneliest job around). I guess that is what people do around here… buy big fancy cars so they can hide away, avoid the clean sidewalks because God forbid you might actually pass someone else and have to awkwardly say hello.
Oh suburbia… won’t you ever disappear?

So true my friend, so true.
