Anyone who is a Thrice fan will know the reference to this post. This morning, at 3:13am (allegedly) someone broke into the church I work at and stole over $10,000 worth of computers, sound equipment, and other electronics. It was a terrible blow… as they stole my computer from my office, which had every video I have ever made, every lesson I have ever written, pictures from countless trips, and much more irreplaceable things; they stole both of my guitars from the youth room (along with every other guitar in the church at the time, a total of 8 guitars); they stole hard drives, microphones, and my Canon Rebel XT digital camera.

It was a rough day… most of which I spent feeling sick and queasy. Questions would stream through my mind constantly all day, and still are right now. Everything from the legistical questions like:

How did they get in?
How did no one see them?
Will the cops be able to catch them?

To the more philosophical questions…

Why did someone steal from the church?
Why did God let this happen?
Why do I feel so angry?
Why was I so attached to these material things… can I let them go?

It was a dark day at CCTO. The police are investigating, taking prints, and doing who knows what. I am left stripped of my valuables… things I probably began to take for granted – until now.
